Lauren Petit Named NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Lauren Petit (Medfield, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Petit led the Polar Bears in scoring in a pair of NESCAC wins last weekend, including a game-high 20 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Tufts on Saturday. For the weekend, Petit averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and connected on 58.3 percent of her shots from the field.

She is enjoying her best season as a Polar Bear, currently leading the team in scoring at 10.9 points/game. She is connecting on 50% of her shots on the year and has hit a team-leading 27 three-pointers.

Bowdoin is 13-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season and is currently ranked seventh in the latest WBCA Division III poll.
