PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team defeated Vassar in its spring break opener on Sunday.

The Polar Bears, ranked 16th in the latest Division III poll, improve to 1-1 overall with the win.

Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin's Tasha Christ and Devon Wolfe earned an 8-5 win at number one doubles while Izzy Essi/Julia Marks posted an 8-3 win at number two for the Polar Bears.
  • Bowdoin completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win by Fleming Landau and Sasa Jovanovic.
  • Bowdoin clinched the win with victories at five of the six singles spots, courtesy of Christ (6-2, 6-1), Wolfe (6-4, 7-6), Essi (6-2, 6-1), Jovanovic (6-0, 6-0) and Landau (6-1, 6-0).
