Kara Finnerty Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin's Kara Finnerty (Hopkinton, Mass.) has been named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team.

Voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the Academic All-America At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and the classroom. Finnerty was named as a Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-America selection and is Bowdoin's first At-Large Academic All-American since Kim Kahnweiler in 2016. Finnerty was a two-sport All-American for Bowdoin in field hockey and women's lacrosse while excelling in the classroom with a double-major in Government and Legal Studies and Francophone Studies. She received the Athletic Department's Sidney J. Watson Award for Outstanding Multi-Sport Athlete in May.
