Caroline Shipley Named First Team Academic All-American

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin's Caroline Shipley '20 (Andover, Mass.) has been named a First Team Academic All-American for Track & Field and Cross Country by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the Academic All-America Track & Field and Cross Country Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and the classroom. Shipley is Bowdoin's first Academic All-American in track & field since Erin Silva in 2015. She is Bowdoin's first First Team Academic All-American in any sport since Lucas Hausman in men's basketball in 2016.

A three-time All-American in cross country and track, including a 2018 national champion in the Distance Medley Relay, Shipley was a double-major in Environmental Studies and Government & Legal Studies at Bowdoin. A Sarah & James Bowdoin Scholar, she received the Athletic Department's Academic Achievement Award for Women this spring.
