Women's Golf Runs Away With Bobcat Invitational

AUBURN, Maine - The Bowdoin women's golf team won the Bates Bobcat Invitational by 50 strokes this weekend at Martindale Country Club. 

In addition to the team victory, Bowdoin's Caroline Farber came away with medalist honors in the individual tournament. 

Tournament Highlights

  • Bowdoin carded a team total of 661, improving by 13 strokes as a team from Saturday to Sunday. They easily outplayed Bates (711) and HUsson (766) to take first place.
  • The Polar Bears boasted four of the top five finishers, led by Farber's two-day total of 156, including a 75 on Sunday.
  • Abbie Kaestle went 81-79 to total 160 and take second place while EMme McCabe (169) was fourth and Crystal Chong (176) took fifth.

  • The Polar Bears will venture out of state for the first time next weekend as they head to Massachusetts for the Mount Holyoke Invitational on September 21-22 at The Orchards G.C. in South Hadley.
