BRUNSWICK, Maine – Two members of the Bowdoin College volleyball team have been recognized in All-Conference honors announced by the league on Wednesday.
It is the third straight First Team All-NESCAC selection for Caroline Flaharty, who joins Katie Doherty '17, as the only Bowdoin players to earn three First Team All-Conference selections. Flaharty has averaged 2.86 kills/set and 3.15 digs/set this season for the Polar Bears and, earlier this year, became just the third player in program history to surpass 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. Her 1,224 career kills stand third all-time at Bowdoin and are just three away from the second place position on the list.
Cori Gray enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign that finds her leading the NESCAC and ranking among the national leaders with 1.23 blocks/set this season. Her 98 blocks are sixth in a single season at Bowdoin. She has been particularly outstanding down the stretch for the Polar Bears, averaging 2.6 kills and 1.5 blocks per set over Bowdoin's last seven matches dating back to October 26.
The Polar Bears (18-7) earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and will play Endicott on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Tufts in the first round.
